Jeanelle Boyer, RYT

Within every person is an eternal well of bliss and love, and my heartfelt wish is to lead people through uplifting yoga experiences that guide them back to their light within.  As people connect back to that joy and love within, then compassion for all beings and this planet naturally arises.  I began my yoga practice in 1998 with Steven Valloney at Sunrise Yoga in Ithaca, NY and completed my 200 hour teaching training at Kripalu in 2007.  Throughout the years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to study with many amazing teachers, such as Shiva Rea, Desiree Rumbaugh, Seane Corn, Max Strom, Dharma Mittra, Yoganand Michael Carroll, Saul David Raye, Brock and Krista Cahill, and many others.
My yoga classes range from vigorous alignment –based vinyasa flow classes to very mindful, meditative practices.   I love to create a safe, loving and playful environment where everyone feels safe to explore.   Each class is truly an experience… a loving exploration of all the different aspects of self.  In addition to yoga, I am completely in love with this planet and spend as much time as possible outdoors-adventure racing, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, paddling, exploring, and just BEING.

Journey to the Center:
According to the Kosha system of yogic philosophy, our core true SELF is surround by five sheaths or subtle bodies: the physical body, the breath or energetic body, the mental or thinking body, the wisdom/feeling/intuitive body and the bliss body.  We will practice pranayama and a meditative posture flow to explore each of these subtle bodies as we journey back to our center…connecting back to our true nature which is LOVE.

Yoga Nidra:
Yoga Nidra has been dubbed the sleep of the yogi’s….a deep meditative sleep in which the brain is in a deep sleep but awareness is present.  Not only is this a restful and relaxing practice (some say 30 minutes is as good as 6 hours of sleep!), but it is also a profound opportunity to explore that eternal question of: “Who am I?” and to experience true states of BEING… In this class, we will use gentle postures and quieting pranayama to prepare the body/mind for a 35 minute yoga nidra practice.
