Dena Beratta, RYT

Dena is a certified and registered Yoga Instructor. She trained with Tony Riposo, Founder and Director of Infinite Light Yoga, a Central New York Yoga School teaching a classical style of yoga which is a blend of Riposo’s Kripalu background and the personal style he developed over 20 years of practice and teaching. Immediately after graduating, Dena joined Infinite Light Yoga as an Instructor and also works as a Teaching Assistant in the ILY Teacher Training Program.
Dena’s classes are based on the principles of classical yoga. She will guide you through a centering meditation and pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures), and relaxation. She draws on her personal practice, a B. A. in Psychology, and life experience as a wife, mother, writer and photographer. She believes yoga should be available and accessible for every person and every body so that all people can benefit from countless health benefits and enjoy the practice as a wonderful gateway to self-discovery, inner peace and joy, as well as creativity and productivity. She teaches from a strong and personal belief that the practice of yoga enhances all other areas of life.


Moon Salutations with Dena Beratta
 Based on the principles of classical yoga, this class is a FLYF tradition. You will be guided through centering, pranayama, and warm-ups followed by several variations of moon salutations. Moon salutations provide primarily side stretching and are a wonderful complement to sun salutations. We’ll move to the mat for some floor postures and end with a guided liquid moonlight relaxation. Appropriate for all levels. Modifications will be provided.

Hoop Dance Basics
Come learn the basics of hoop dancing with Hoopnotica-certified teacher Dena Beratta. You’ll have so much fun, you won’t notice that you are getting an incredible fat-burning and toning workout. In this workshop, you will learn how to keep the hoop spinning on your waist, hips, and above your head, and you will learn how to take the hoop on and off your body in a beautiful spiral. The workshop will include warm-ups and detailed instructions for each technique and some hoop jam time – a free period to work on techniques or blending moves together into a personal flow. Hooping is an ideal complement to your yoga practice. This workshop is most appropriate for beginners, but more experienced hoopers are welcome to come share their skills. Be prepared to play, laugh and tap into your inner child. A limited supply of hoops will be available for borrowing, but if you have your own, bring it along. There will be vendors selling hoops at the festival as well!
