Yoga has been a consistent part of my life since I first got on the mat 10 years ago in St. John, USVI.  Since then, I have studied with many inspiring teachers in Ithaca as well as with nationally recognized teachers such as Dharma Mittra, Shiva Rea and Seane Corn.  In 2005 I began teaching in various studios in Ithaca as well as at the Ithaca College Wellness Center.  I teach hatha and vinyasa yoga, focusing my classes on a blend of breathwork, postures and positive inspiration. In recent years, I have also been introduced to and practiced acro-yoga which will serve as the foundation for the Partner Yoga workshops.

Partner Yoga Basics
Spend some time with a friend or a stranger learning about ways in which yoga can be practiced with another person.  The emphasis will be on getting people to connect with each other by doing simple, yoga based, flexibility and strengthening partner exercises, and will be geared towards relaxing deeply into poses.  The workshop will start simple and become more advanced, depending on participants’ levels of experience and fitness.  We will cover a little bit of everything, from assisted twists to backbends and forward bends, to poses which involve strength and/or balance.  Some partner assisted inversions may also be incorporated, and no matter what we’ll have fun!

Partner Yoga Playtime
This workshop will build on the first and will again be tailored to the participants’ levels of experience and fitness.  We will explore some partner yoga postures that take you deeper into the poses and/or which involve more acrobatic balances and inversions.  We may have some fun seeing if we can come up with some of our own partner yoga poses and/or take some time melting into some thai yoga massages, or maybe even both!
