A Message from Sara Ivanhoe.

Dear Finger Lakes Community,

It is with a sad heart that I have to announce that I won't be making it out to the festival this year.  It was just a matter of timing and logistics, all of which we hope will be ironed out and ready to go for next year!  There is a great line up for the festival, so please take full advantage of all of the yoga classes and kirtan.  Feel free to send me an email with any questions that you might have or connect with me on Facebook.  Have a great summer and hope to see you next year!

Namaste',
Sara

The Finger Lakes Yoga Festival Chooses Camp Good Days As This Year's Beneficiary.

June, 12th, 2012
The Finger Lakes Yoga Festival has chosen Camp Good Days and Special Times as this year's not-for-profit beneficiary. Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges through summer camping experiences and year-round events and activities. Let's hope for a really successful year, so we can help out as much as possible. The festival also plans a "Wish List Drive" to help Camp Good Days fill their extensive wish list! Basic items like supplies and toiletries will be asked for. More information about Camp Good Days, as well as a copy of the wishlist can be found at www.campgooddays.org

The Finger Lakes Yoga Festival Officially Applies for Non-Profit Status.

June 4th, 2012
The announcement was made that the Finger Lakes Yoga Festival is officially filing with New York State to become a non-profit corporation. Since the first FLYF, Mathew "Huck" Ingles, festival creator and Director, has operated the festival himself, relying on volunteers to help out in exchange for attendance. All the funds raised for the FLYF are used to create the festival infrastructure, and to bring in more popular teachers and musicians. "We've been operating like a non-profit since day one, and it's time to make it official." says Huck.
The FLYF was created out of a need for a yoga event that was affordable, non-commercial, and community oriented, yet provides quality amenities like the pool, all-weather tents, showers and restrooms, and safe camping and parking. The festival boasts more than thirty instructors. And, sixty plus workshops over four days, happening all day, sometimes three at a time. Then, in the evening, the main stage lights up and the music begins. And with world class teachers like Sara Ivanhoe, and performers like Wynne Paris, this festival will be something not to miss.
