Frequently Asked Questions

Camping info:
Camping is included with your ticket. (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) It is possible to stay a night before, or a night after for an additional fee. Festival camping is primitive, meaning you will be setting your tent up in the ground, somewhere within the woods or field. We suggest bringing a groundcloth or tarp to go under your tent.  We have about 3 acres to work with, we won't run out of space.
Please read the rest of the Frequently Asked Questions below for more information.

What should I expect at the festival?
Expect a rustic yoga event focused on simplicity, nature, family, and fun. We camp out in tents and play under the sun and stars. Our yoga workshops are held in the grass, under a large tent or canopy. Our music is by the campfire. This is the Finger Lakes Yoga Festival! :)
The VENUE this year is Little Farm in the Valley, our small 3 acre homested in the country. It's almost paradise, but we can hear the highway behind us. We are used to it. Lots of shade and shady camping under the trees, and in the apple orchard.
We are in the heart of wine country, if you want a field trip. The lakes are close by, and the swimming is great.

Where else can I stay if I don't want to camp?
There are many nice hotels in nearby.

Can I come early and stay late?
Yes! Additional camping fees will apply.

Yes! You may bring and prepare your own food. You may bring a camp stove, cooler, etc. Co-op outdoor kitchen space is available.

What are the classes like? Do I need experience?
You do not need any experience for the majority of classes. All our teachers are trained professionals and can accommodate beginners.

Where does the festival get the teachers? Are they registered?
We are committed to providing only quality teachers, classes, and workshops at the Finger Lakes Yoga Festival. Our teachers are selected out of the many teachers who apply from all over the North East U.S., and beyond. We choose teachers who we feel represent the best of their community, and we have some of the finest around.  All of our teachers are experienced in their field, and Registered with the Yoga Alliance, or Certified by an equivalent school, or properly trained in their modality.

Can I bring a pop-up canopy or screen house?
Yes, we encourage you to bring your free standing canopy or screen house to protect you from the elements. They must be free standing, not tied to trees. They must be reasonably sized for your party. It must be weighted down, or be staked down properly.

Bring a flashlight, sunscreen, snacks, chairs, yoga mats, blankets, water bottles, kid supplies, medications, good shoes, rain gear, and smiles. If you are camping, bring everything you will need! Town is a few miles away.
